T-Mobile Metro pcs merger Frequently Asked Questions

Metro PCS Merger Customer Concerns

Found these answers to some very popular question's regarding the soon to come merger of Metro pcs and T-Mobile.

1. What does this potential T-Mobile combination mean to me?

  • Nothing will change with your service, your plan or your phone, or where you can make your payments or receive customer support. MetroPCS remains focused on providing an exceptional wireless experience with state-of-the-art 4GLTE service and smartphones at a tremendous value. Each day, we’re seeing thousands of people upgrade to and choose MetroPCS’ 4GLTE because of our unmatched unlimited offering. We think our tremendous value proposition will only get better after the T-Mobile combination. But for now, it is business as usual with the same driven focus on delivering exceptional service and experience to you.
  • Upon completion of the combination with T-Mobile, the plan is to keep the MetroPCS brand name, our places of distribution and the way we do business. The only real difference you should see is that MetroPCS will offer an even broader array of affordable, cutting-edge handsets and mobile services for the same great value you have come to expect from MetroPCS. This will mean you have more choices, more coverage and greater access to a faster, broader, higher capacity 4G network -- where you live and in more cities throughout the U.S.

  • 2. When is the potential T-Mobile combination expected to complete?

  • We expect the combination to close in the first half of 2013, subject to MetroPCS stockholder approval, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

  • 3. Will my rate plan or mobile services change?

  • No. Your rate plan will not change as a result of the announcement of the T-Mobile combination. You will continue to receive an exceptional mobile experience at a great value and the price of your plan will stay the same.
  • Your mobile service will not be affected by the announcement of the T-Mobile combination. We will still provide the same mobile service you’ve come to expect, choice in services and handsets – while still offering affordable unlimited talk, text and data.
  • Upon completion of the combination with T-Mobile, we will have the opportunity to offer you an even wider selection of affordable, cutting-edge handsets and mobile services. This will mean more coverage with greater access to a larger 4G network -- where you live and in more cities throughout the U.S.

  • 4. Will MetroPCS’ rate plans still be unlimited and tax inclusive?

  • Absolutely. All MetroPCS customers currently on a tax inclusive plan will remain on such and all new customers will continue to be offered unlimited tax and regulatory fee inclusive rate plans.

  • 5. Does this mean that I will be required to sign a contract for wireless services, or am I now under a contract?

  • No. You are not required to sign a contract to continue to receive your current service. MetroPCS remains committed to providing you affordable wireless service with no annual contract.
  • The completion of the T-Mobile combination will not change our no-annual contract model. Our plan is for your service to continue on a no-annual contract basis providing you with a great mobile experience at the best value.

  • 6. How long will my handset or smartphone work on MetroPCS with the impending T-Mobile combination?

  • The announcement of the combination with T-Mobile will not interrupt our ability to provide wireless services to you.
  • You will continue to be able to purchase or upgrade your handset from the current and future lineup of handsets available at any local area MetroPCS store, on your handset via MyMetro app, or at
  • Upon completion of the combination with T-Mobile, you will have more choices, more coverage and greater access to a faster, broader, higher capacity 4GLTE network. And, you will have a broader array of affordable, cutting-edge handsets for upgrade purposes and a broader array of mobile services to choose from for the same great value. We do anticipate that by the second half of 2015, customers who have not already upgraded their handsets, will need to upgrade their handsets to one of the wide range of affordable, cutting-edge handsets that will be available at that time.

  • 7. How do I pay my bill? Can I pay at T-Mobile stores now?

  • For the immediate future, continue paying for service as you always have through the existing MetroPCS payment channels. If those channels are expanded in the future, we’ll communicate that information to you as quickly as possible.
  • Again the transaction is expected to complete in the first half of 2013 -- subject to MetroPCS stockholder approval, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. And during this time, MetroPCS and T-Mobile will be, and continue to operate, as independent companies and continue to compete vigorously – having no impact on MetroPCS’ day-to-day operations.

  • 8. I’ve heard that T-Mobile intends to force MetroPCS customers to move to T-Mobile as soon as the combination is completed. Is that true?

  • Absolutely not. Existing customers will continue to experience the same great MetroPCS coverage you have come to expect.
  • Immediately, nothing will change with your service, your plan or your phone. MetroPCS will remain focused on providing an exceptional wireless experience with state-of-the-art 4GLTE service and smartphones at a tremendous value. Each day, we’re seeing thousands of people upgrading to and choosing MetroPCS’ 4GLTE, and we think the value we offer will only get better after the T-Mobile combination.
  • Over time, customers who choose to upgrade to one of the affordable, cutting-edge smartphones that will be available will also have the benefit of experiencing an even larger and faster 4G network that combines the best of T-Mobile and MetroPCS.

  • 9. Will I get better coverage?

  • One of the key benefits of the proposed combination with T-Mobile will be deeper 4GLTE network coverage and a clear-cut technology path to one common 4GLTE network and the ability to migrate customers to a faster, broader, higher capacity 4G network.
  • More specific details about changes to coverage areas will be available in the future. We will keep you updated on our progress and other important developments.

  • 10. Where can I go for more information on the combination?

  • You can visit for any new information, as we are committed to and will continue to keep you updated on our progress and other important developments. Additionally, you may also go into your nearest corporate store if you have any more questions or feel free to contact customer service for issues related to your account. Simply dial *611 from your MetroPCS phone or 888-8metro8 (888-863-8768).

Metro PCS T-Mobile Merge The Up Sides

T-Mobile and Metro Merger Here's the Up Sides!

    T-Mobile and Metro

    A Force to Reckon With!

The calculation is easy – T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS together are stronger and more efficient companies, with the spectrum resources and economies of scale required to compete more effectively in today’s wireless marketplace and as a leading value carrier in the United States.

At present, T-Mobile USA trails AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint in market share and service revenue.  T-Mobile USA would benefit substantially from having access to additional spectrum to deploy a robust 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) offering.  And, although MetroPCS has enjoyed success in a number of major metropolitan areas, its ability to grow beyond those areas in the future will be limited by a lack of access to additional spectrum and the costs of building new stand-alone, greenfield networks if and when spectrum is available.  MetroPCS also is disadvantaged at present by its inability to offer seamless in-network, nationwide service to its customers. And both T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS face scale disadvantages that limit their access to some popular or cutting-edge devices.

The proposed transaction will allow T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS to combine their highly complementary spectrum portfolios, enabling a broader and deeper roll-out of 4G LTE services than either company could readily achieve on its own.  In particular, the transaction will provide a path to at least 20x20 MHz of 4G LTE in many areas in the near term, including 90 percent of the nation’s top 25 metro areas.   Moreover, the merged entity will have the ability to amortize investments in innovation more effectively and efficiently.  Similarly, as a publicly-traded entity, T-Mobile USA will now have direct access to the public debt and equity capital markets, giving it increased financial flexibility and enhanced stability.

Together, T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS can upgrade their networks and rapidly provide service and network benefits without customer disruption.  The T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS legacy networks will continue to operate for a transition period pursuant to a straightforward technology migration plan.  MetroPCS customers will be able to migrate over time to the combined company’s enhanced and expanded network and T-Mobile USA customers will enjoy improved and expanded LTE coverage.

The familiar MetroPCS brand will be retained.  MetroPCS will continue to be operated as a separate business unit and will be able to take advantage of T-Mobile USA’s existing nationwide infrastructure to establish expanded MetroPCS-branded distribution in metropolitan areas unserved at present by MetroPCS.  And even within MetroPCS’ existing service areas, MetroPCS customers will enjoy significant benefits including access to a broader array of handsets, improved services, and the combined company’s 4G LTE network.  As a result, the transaction will improve the speed, quality, and robustness of the company’s current service offerings.

Current T-Mobile USA customers also will enjoy significant benefits from the proposed transaction. These include improved coverage and quality through the incorporation of MetroPCS’ cell sites and spectrum into the combined company’s network, access to a much richer LTE experience enabled through the integrated deployment of a single LTE network with wider channels, and access to a greater variety of devices and service plan options.

In sum, the combination of T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS will be pro-competitive and pro-consumer, giving the combined company the scale, spectrum, network, and resources to challenge and compete more effectively with its larger rivals in the provision of diverse products and services.  It will deliver an enhanced customer experience through a wider selection of attractive, competitively-priced plans, while at the same time using both T-Mobile USA’s and MetroPCS’ complementary spectrum to provide greater network coverage and a more robust deployment of LTE.  Put simply, through this transaction, T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS will establish a new and aggressive value leader in the wireless market, benefitting competition and consumer choice throughout the country.

T-Mobile Metro Merger Right around the Corner!

    Metro PCS Subscriber Loss

    and T-Mobile Merge Ahead!

In the prepaid race, MetroPCS has always been at the forefront of competitive offerings, which makes its unfortunate that the company reported a net loss of 93,000 subscribers in the fourth quarter. As Metro faces increased competition, the company dropped to 8.9 million subscribers overall. The dip in subscribers this morning comes as the company prepares for its merger with T-Mobile USA. It’s the first time the company has reported a net loss of subscribers in the fourth quarter, and the third straight quarter they’ve seen net losses.
“This is the first time MetroPCS has lost subscribers on a net basis in Q4, which is typically its second strongest quarter behind Q1, and marks the company’s third consecutive quarter of net subscriber losses,” UBS analyst John Hodulik said in a research note. “We believe this underscores the urgency with which the company pursued merger partners before reaching a deal with T-Mobile in October.”
As T-Mobile’s recent quarterly numbers have suffered in the postpaid arena, their prepaid growth has been a lone beacon of positive news. With increasing competition in the prepaid space, T-Mobile and MetroPCS will have to work fast and furious right from the start to keep the space competitive with offerings that entice customers to stay with the new company.
Let’s hope that T-Mobile and MetroPCS can achieve exactly what they set out for, to bring Value to the masses on a nationwide network.

    Metro PCS Phone Warranty Explaination

    Metro PCS Phone Warranty's

I had a lot of question's regarding the warranty policy's at Metro pcs. So here's how they work.

All phone's purchased from Metro pcs have a 1 year limited manufacture warranty.  If the phone has physical damage (cracked screen, drop damage to housing) this will void the warranty and you will have to buy a new phone. Water damage will also void this warranty.

For the first 30 day's a warranty exchange is free of charge after 30 day's there may be a $15 fee applied when you receive your replacement. The replacement will more than likely have to be ordered and will take 3-5 business day's to be shipped to the location.

Water Damage and Physical Damage are covered under insurance which is $5 per month and there will be a deductable for the replacement. Insurance replacement's are shipped directly from Asurion and are not able to be done in store. For more information on how to make an insurance claim see the links below.

There are also some location's that offer repair's or may know where you could get a phone repaired.
