Screen Lock








To change device lock password or PIN, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'QUICK SETTINGS,' then tap Lock screen.
  4. Tap Screen lock.
  5. Tap Screen lock.
  6. Choose desired screen lock:
    • Swipe
    • Pattern
    • PIN
    • Password
    • Fingerprint
    • None
  7. To use Swipe for the Lock screen, follow these steps:
    1. Tap Swipe.
    2. You will then be prompted to swipe the screen when it is locked.
  8. To use a Pattern for the Lock screen, follow these steps:
    1. Tap Pattern.
    2. Draw your unlock pattern on the screen by connecting the dots.
    3. When a 'Pattern recorded.' message appears, tap Continue.
    4. Draw your unlock pattern on the screen again.
    5. When 'Your new unlock pattern:' message appears, tap Confirm.
    6. Set your backup PIN:
      1. Backup PIN must be at least 4 numbers in length.
      2. If you forget your pattern, you can enter your backup PIN to unlock the screen.
      3. Choose your backup PIN by entering the numbers on the on-screen keypad.
      4. Tap Continue.
      5. Confirm your backup PIN by entering the numbers on the on-screen keypad.
      6. Tap OK.
      7. To change your pattern, repeat the above steps and choose a new pattern.
  9. To create a PIN for the Lock screen, follow these steps:
    1. Tap PIN.
    2. Select your PIN by entering the numbers on the on-screen keypad.
    3. PIN must be at least 4 numbers.
    4. Tap Continue.
    5. Confirm your PIN by entering the numbers on the on-screen keypad.
    6. Tap OK.
    7. To change your PIN, repeat the above steps and choose a new PIN.
  10. To create a Password for the Lock screen, follow these steps:
    1. Tap Password.
      • Note: Password must be at least four characters in length and contain at least 1 letter.
    2. Select your password by entering the numbers and letters on the on-screen keypad.
    3. Tap Continue.
    4. Confirm your your password by entering the numbers and letters on the on-screen keypad.
    5. Tap OK.
    6. To change your Password, repeat the above steps and choose a new Password
  11. To use your Fingerprint for the Lock screen, follow these steps:
    1. Tap Fingerprint.
    2. Read the Disclaimer.
    3. Tap OK.
    4. Swipe your finger as directed on the next screen to capture your fingerprint. It will prompt you to swipe your finger several times.
    5. Tap OK.
    6. Enter a password to use as an alternative to the fingerprint:
      Note: Password must contain at least one letter. To delete or reset an alternate password, delete the saved fingerprint.
    7. Tap Continue.
    8. Confirm your password on the on-screen keypad.
    9. Tap OK




How To Turn Off the Screen Lock



To turn on or turn off the device lock password or PIN, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'QUICK SETTINGS,' then tap Lock screen.
  4. Tap Screen lock.
  5. Tap None.
