Ford SYNC General Audio Commands

General Audio Voice Commands for Vehicles Equipped with Ford SYNC

Key points about Phone voice commands

Unlike other voice commands, the Phone mode is always active, so you don’t have to first say “Phone” to switch modes. If you do say "Phone" first, the command still works.
Contact names must be said exactly as entered in your phonebook. Giving the location, such as “Mom at home” is optional, but helps streamline the voice dialogue between you and SYNC.
There is no voice command to end a call. To conclude a call, press the Phone button or wait for the other party to disconnect.

Here are the general audio voice commands with Ford SYNC.

    Ford MyKey Technology

    Ford MyKey Technology

Every parent has the same feelings the first time their child is about to hit the road. That feeling of terror driven by your child severe lack of driving experience.... God those teenage years are tough on parents. Well, Ford has a technology that may actually relieve some of your anxiety with MyKey by Ford.

MyKey allows you to set certain limits on the driver. For example: volume control can be set to a certain level, BeltMinder will chime ad mute the radio until the belt is buckled, a fuel reminder will appear in the message center when you're at an eighth of a tank, and last but definitely not least you can set the top speed of the car! Imagine that a feature that allows you to block your child from speeding. You can also track how many miles were driven by the other driver. I know this is exactly what I will be doing when my little one turns 16 and gets behind the wheel for the first time.

    BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert

    BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert

The available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert uses radar in the rear quarter panels to detect a vehicle entering your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the sideview mirror.

Cross-traffic alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If it detects a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, it sends an audible warning, a visual display in either sideview mirror, and a signal in the message center. BLIS® technology is available on Taurus Limited and SHO models.

Another amazing safety feature from Ford that should never effect how well you pay attention while behind the wheel. If you get hit because this feature did not tell you that a car was in your way while merging guess who is at fault? You, not Ford and the will not compensate you for not paying attention!

Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support Ford Vehicles

Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support

Available adaptive cruise control functions just like normal cruise control, with one exception: When the system is activated and its sensors detect traffic slowing ahead, your vehicle automatically slows to maintain the distance you’ve set. And when traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the preset speed. Collision warning with brake support (included with adaptive cruise control) can alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front of you. A heads-up display, which simulates brake lights, flashes on the windshield. If you don’t react in time, the brakes will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake.

Although this is quite the amazing safety feature make sure you do not lose sight that the sensors can make mistakes and that you should never pay any less attention to the road than you previously did without this amazing feature!
